Our Goals
Every person's right to use and enjoy our country's collective clean water, clean land and clean air is under unprecedented attack in this political climate. This is even more true for our Native and diverse citizens. The Environmental Justice Committee commits to amplifying the voices of these folks so the real, devastating effects of extractive industries are clear. Fair access to clean air to breathe, clean water to drink and clean land to live on is fundamental to a healthy strong country. We can't go back to the days of rivers on fire and smog so heavy, no one can take a deep breath.

Our Favorite Books & Movies
Environmentalists are often portrayed in media as white, hippie, crunchy, granola do gooders who live to hug trees and camp.
In reality, environmental justice is most often fought for on a daily basis by our Native communities to protect their lands and wild rice waters from oil and sulfate pollution.
Look for books and movies by people who are living in the areas at most risk. Some of our recommendations can be found below. Now It’s Your Turn. Share Your Favorites With Us!
