Super Bowl Weekend Activities

While millions of MN tax dollars disappear into parties for the rich, support these Super Bowl weekend protests to draw attention to the persistent issues of low wages, deportations, racism, police brutality and prioritizing corporate over community interests here in MN.

Feb. 3, 12:00-4:00pm - "RESiST on Lake Nokomis!" - Lake Nokomis Parkway East. We need your help to create a massive RESIST message on the ice to clearly communicate to people entering and exiting our great state this weekend that here in Minnesota, we believe in equality and rights for all! We will create this gigantic snow-tag on the lake using people power. 

Feb. 2, 4:30-6:00pm - Super Bowl Protest: Tackle Corporate Greed (Navigate MNCTUL and more), Home Depot, New Brighton Blvd, Mpls. Call on Home Depot, which benefits from low-wage and immigrant workers and customers, to support a Responsible Contractor Policy and DACA.

Feb. 2, 5:15-6:30pm - Overpass Light Brigade: Pass the Dream Act (Indivisible MN03Indivisible Light Brigade), Soba Bridge, Mpls. Help the OLB reach a broader Super Bowl audience. Come hold a letter in the message “Pass the Dream Act Now”

Feb. 3, 7:00-9:00am - Super Bowl Breakfast: Support $15 and Workers' Rights (15 Now Minnesota, CTUL), Hilton Hotel, 1001 Marquette Ave, Mpls. While the Host committee and invitees enjoy an elite Super Bowl breakfast inside, join the People’s Breakfast to honor workers who fight for living wages, their families and communities.

Feb. 3, 12:30-3:30pm - Stop US Bank from Funding Pipelines (Water Protectors, MN350: Building a Climate Movement in Minnesota and more), US Bank HQ, Nicollet Mall, Mpls. As the spotlight turns on the US Bank Stadium, demand that US Bank keep its promise to divest from oil and gas pipelines, including Energy Transfer Partners (ETP), the company behind the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Feb. 3, 1-7pm / February 4, 10-3pm - National Take a Knee Nation Conference and Rally (Take A Knee Nation), Augsberg University, Mpls. Two-day national conference on race, police violence and the right to protest. For details on sessions, see Take A Knee Nation 

Feb. 4, 3:00pm | Super Bowl Anti-Racist, Anti-Corporate Rally (Super Bowl Anti-Racist & Anti-Corporate Coalition and more), Franklin and Chicago Ave, Mpls. Protest racist police brutality and the sell out of our city to greedy NFL owners and corporate sponsors. Local community organizations will rally at Peavey Park, followed by a march to the stadium.
